Synopsis: Karin is a refugee. In order to remain in Italy, she marries a sailor from the Stromboli Island if Sicily. Soon their different mentalities and the harsh lifestyle on the island strains the couple. Hated by the townsfolk and practically indifferent to her husband, Karin runs away, reaching the peak of the volcano, where she asks God for the strength to survive.
