Synopsis: In a small provincial French town, Dr Morasseau, Mr Lavoisier and the butcher Filiol decide to create a significant estate business. One obstacle: Mrs Cuno and her son Louis, the mailman, who do not want to sell their house. Louis presumably provokes the death of the butcher, which motivates the arrival of Inspector Lavardin.
